Announcing our new blog, Global Voices for Ecology and Health

05/01/2012

Leading up to the EcoHealth 2012 conference in October in Kunming (China), we are re-launching the EcoHealth Student Section Blog, Global Voices for Ecology and Health.

In this new incarnation, the blog is a platform to spark conversations and debates about ecohealth that we will continue face-to-face during the upcoming conference and beyond.  It is also a convenient discussion venue for those who might be unable to get to China in person.  The main threads and debates voiced on the blog will serve as the core of a roundtable session in EcoHealth 2012 in Kunming and will help the Student Section assess future priorities as a community.

The blog offers an opportunity for us all to take the pulse of ecohealth activity around the world. We are looking forward to hosting commentaries from students and professionals, short interviews, invited entries from conference keynote speakers, and questions related to this year’s conference themes.  Everyone is welcome to post comments in the blog and we are looking forward to some vigorous debate and out of the box thinking (comments will be moderated before going live).

To submit blog posts or for more information, please contact the Student Section at ecohealthstudents@gmail.com

A very interesting interdisciplinary field that is of increasing importance and links the ecological side of biology with the biomedical side.

A new global democratic grassroot global governance is being empowered by the gain Paradigm. It is happening as GROs (Grassroots Organizations) solve local problems and develop local potentials with local skills, and local resources.

The world's coral reefs are in alarming decline, and a recent groundbreaking study singles out human settlement, especially coastal development and agriculture, as the main culprit, even more so than warming sea waters and acidification linked to global warming. I am realy satisfy with ESSIAC.And i will also support them.
