Ajit Kumar Karna
Ajit Kumar Karna is a veterinarian and is pursuing his doctorate in Microbiology and Epidemiology at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Before joining PhD, he was at University of New South Wales, Sydney for Master of Public Health and Master of International Public Health. His research interest lies in animal-human-ecological interface with focus on zoonotic diseases transmission, drivers of pathogen spill over and cross-species complexity, arthropod borne diseases, and model development on infectious disease data. He is a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certified and a certified adult and larva mosquito identification specialist. Ajit was in EcoHealth Conference 2012, Kunming, China and since then he is an active student member of EcoHealth and also hosted a journal Club on MERS-CoV. His current research is on Japanese Encephalitis Virus and Disease in Nepal’s context, which is his country. He enjoys travelling, hiking, photography, listening to music, cooking and playing basketball.
